Cosplay Fashion Show at the Japanese Festival - participate!
Our annual Cosplay Fashion Show at Missouri Botanical Gardens' Japanese Festival is coming up on Saturday, September 3 from 4-5pm. You can get involved AND get in free to the festival! This non-competitive event is looking for cosplay of all sorts - anime, kpop, American TV, cartoons, comics, and more! Just fill out our Google form with information on your costume and, if you'd like, a skit you want to perform (you can also just model). Our staff will get back to you with information on getting your wristband and lining up for the fashion show.
Pre-registration is closed, but you can still register at the door, and Hyrulian High Feast tickets are available until March 12.
We have closed pre-registration for this year so that we can get the badges printed, but badges will be available at the door - daily passes for all three days and weekend passes. Pricing and other information is on the Registration Page.
If you haven't yet ordered your tickets for the Hyrulian High Feast at 7:00 on Friday night of the convention, you can order them until March 12. They are $15 online or $20 at the door. As of right now, there are only 55 tickets left. Reserve yours for pickup with your badge, or will call if you have not yet purchased your badge, on our ordering page.
Schedule online! Pre-register and book your hotel room by March 4.
The full schedule for the convention is now online on the Schedule Page. You cand download the PDF or add the event on the Eventbase app on your phone or handheld device.

We have added the schedule of events only (not panels) to the Schedule Page. The panel schedule should be up in the next few weeks as we are still taking a few last-minute submissions. For guests, we have added musical guests Pirates, Inc. and fantastic artist guest The Mcnobody, who has given us some whimsical artwork for the program book. Finally, we have added vendors to the Vendors Page.

March 4 will be the final day to pre-register for Kawa Kon. By pre-registering, you can save $5 and time in line. We'll have your badge all printed and ready! Remember, groups wanting a group discount MUST pre-register. Find more information on the Registration Page.
Hyrulian High Feast - Tickets Available!

The Hyrulian High Feast is a special event with limited seating. Tickets cost $15 if you purchase them online and $20 if there are any left for purchase at the door. The cost includes a full meal and a gift from Hyrule.
Dealers' Room and Artists' Alley Full!
We have sold out all of our spaces for dealers and all of our vendor room and hallway spaces for artists. If you have already sent in your registration, don't worry. We will get you in.
Our apologies for the hotel booking issue
Last time we updated the website, we accidentally overwrote the location info page with an old version that didn't have any information on the hotel. Now the page is back along with a booking link. We've also added directions to the hotel for both drivers and those using public transit. In the coming days, we plan to update our guest list with a brand new set of artists and a really fun media guest.

Dates, location, and so much more!
Kawa Kon 2016 will officially take place March 18-20 at the St. Louis Airport Hilton! We'll have the booking link open soon, but we have our first pre-registration round open as well as a few updates on other pages.
Our first booked guests for 2016 are Samurai Dan and Jillian returning for their 6th year.
We have two very exciting events we'll be holding for the first time this year. One is our Strange New World's Fair - a showcase of fandom groups where attendees can explore and interact with characters and clubs. The other is a brand new Startorial Fashion Show. If you own space-themed clothing or want to create some to show off, we'll give you a runway for your fashion from a galaxy far, far away. Prizes will be awarded in several categories for found item and handmade outfits.
Welcome to Kawa Kon 2016!
After a successful 7th year, we are gearing up for Kawa Kon 2016! The theme for 2016 is Strange New Worlds, and our goal is to present it as a fandom Worlds Fair. If you are interested in joining the staff and sharing your ideas and talents, please contact us at email@example.com. Meetings take place in St. Louis once per month until December and twice per month until the convention.
Ignore our current banner. We'll have a new one up soon!
A Big "Thank You" to Our Sponsors!
We've always gotten some great support from companies for our convention prizes, but this year it's overwhelming!
Thank you to:
We're working on some problems with our Kawakon.com email addresses, so until then, please send all inquiries, forms, and contest entries to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
New harrassment policies.
Due to incidents at other conventions, we are implementing an anti-sexual harrassment policy for 2014 and beyond. Sexual harrassment here is defined as unwanted sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, sexual contact, and intimidation to perform any sexual acts. Physical contact in the form of unwanted groping or molestation will result in the suspect's immediate removal from the convention area. Verbal harrassment that does not stop after a single "no" or negative response from a victim will also result in the suspect's immediate removal from the convention area. If the victim requests it, the police will be called. Mutual, consensual sexual contact between adults is not covered under this policy, but "mutual" means that all parties are involved in said consent. If the victim is underage, the police will be called.
